Rudkin & Herbert have been an established local firm since 1992 and giving back has always been at the heart of what they do.
Motivated by the hard work and determination our key workers have shown during the Coronavirus pandemic, Managing Director Ian Herbert commissioned his team to make a bench out of copper pipe; not only to honour the spirit shown but also to raise money for charity.
The bench looked stunning and was auctioned off through the companies Facebook page and network of contacts, with the winning bid coming in at an amazing £2000.00. The money was split between LOROS and Cancer Research UK, with the winning bidder the
n choosing to donate the bench to another charity to be auctioned again; a truly rounded and ongoing way of supporting those who need it.
Not only that, Rudkin & Herbert have also signed up to become LOROS’s latest “Commercial Participator”, pledging to donate £100 to LOROS for every bathroom or wetroom installed for their elderly customers through their local authority contracts.
In July, the scheme meant an additional £300 made its way to LOROS with works being completed in Mere Road, Thringstone and Scalford where the customers each received a certificate to let them know the donation has been made.
Supporter Engagement Co-ordinator for LOROS, Bruce Smith, commented: “The scheme set up by Rudkin & Herbert is a great way of supporting LOROS month on month and it helps the business to donate based on their sales success. The auctioning of the bench was a wonderful way to kick off our relationship and we are so grateful to Ian and the team for their ongoing donations to the Hospice; with their customers safe in the knowledge that not only are they receiving quality workmanship from a local company, but their custom is benefiting charity too!”
