Nominate a local hero

The LOROS Tree of Life is a special place to honour the people that live and work amongst us; old or young, on a large scale or through small, random acts of kindness: These are our local heroes who often go unrecognised but without whom our lives would all be less rich.

One of these was Kate Newman, a much loved, much missed friend, aunt and colleague who lived on the Wykin Estate in Hinckley. When she died in 2022, her local community fundraised in her memory, and used the money to fund some extra special leaves on the LOROS Tree of Life to reward local heroes like her.

If you know a special person, who deserves recognition, you can nominate them for a celebration leaf on the LOROS Tree of Life.

You can nominate in one of four categories using the QR code on this page. Tell us, in no more than 250 words why your nominee should receive this award. If chosen, they will be invited to a special unveiling of the LOROS Tree of Life and be one of the first to see their name featured on one of our special celebration leaves.
