Jubilee celebrations will continue into this weekend as people are invited to take a picnic to an evening of music and fireworks.

The Diamond Jubilee Music in the Park event on Saturday, June 9, will feature music by Junction 21, an 18-piece swing band, as well as the all-female brass band, Boobs and Brass.

Gates open at 5.30pm with the music starting at 7.30pm.

The evening, held in support of LOROS, Warning Zone and the Breast Cancer Campaign, concludes with a big fireworks display at 10pm.

The event, which last year raised £12,000, is organised by Wigston Rotary Club and held in the grounds of the hall by kind permission of its owners the Brooks family.

Tickets cost £12.50 (12-16 years £5, under 12s free) in advance or £15 on the night and there is free parking.

Phone 0116 2786374 or visit the Wistow Rural Centre or the Harborough LOROS shop in Coventry Road.
