Businesses serve up a boost for hospice

Some 14 teams from professional companies in the city took part in the mini league, organised by HSBC, which was held over four weeks at the bank's offices a the Leicestershire Commercial Centre at Grove Park, Enderby.

Anna Wilford, a spokeswoman for the bank, said: "We have been organising the annual tournament for three years and this time we decided to raise money for Loros.

"It is open to professionals, bank workers, solicitors and business consultants. Each of the teams have paid £125 to take part and all the fees were paid to the hospice."

She said the tournament culminated on Wednesday and was won by a team of business consultants from Cooper Parry, which is based in the city.
