Two rival regiments got together at the weekend for a show of marksmanship.
On Sunday, the Grenadier Guards Association invited members of the Coldstream Guards to their charity fun day at the Conservative Club, in Westcotes Drive, off Narborough Road.
The event raised about £600 for various charities, including LOROS and the Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
The regiments also squared up in a shooting contest on the day – with the visiting Coldstream Guards emerging victorious.
Grenadier Guards Association chairman John Cowley said: "We've been rivals for about 300 years, but it's all good natured.
"We had a lot of stalls and events on the day, and the highlight was the shooting competition, which I'm sad to say they won."
Next year, the Grenadier Guards Association celebrates its 100th anniversary and has been invited to Buckingham Palace for a garden party.
A date for the visit has not been set, but the association will be presented with new colours, recognising its longevity.
