An estimated 4,000 people found Stapleford Miniature Railway’s open weekend was just the ticket for some bank holiday fun.
The event featured four locos in steam running trips around the two-mile scenic line in the grounds of Stapleford Park.
The historic steam miniature railway first constructed in 1958, is now run by volunteers at Stapleford and was open to the public as part of a charity steam rally for LOROS Hospice.
In total the weekend event is expected to have raised over £2,500 for the charity.
Jeremy Grice, organiser, said: “We had a really good turnout for the event and had full trains running from 11am till 5.30pm on Sunday.
“We also had a coach party who had travelled from Switzerland attend, which was very unexpected. It turned out that they were on an international railway tour.”
