Land's End to John O'Groats Charity Bike Ride

Gary Foster (pictured right) and Hugh Valentine are currently cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise money for charity.

Land’s End to John O' Groats is the traversal of the whole length of the island of Great Britain between two extremities in the southwest and northeast. The traditional distance by road is 874 miles (1,407 km) and takes most cyclists 10 to 14 days to complete.

Gary, who is raising money for LOROS and the Boys Brigade, said: "The reason I have taken on the challenge was because I wanted something to inspire me and spur me to get fit and healthy."

He hopes to have lost five stone by the time he completes his challenge!

He chose LOROS as on of his charities because it helps and supports cancer patients and helped his mother-in-law through the final months of her short illness.

Good luck to them both....
