Twenty-six businesses are competing to raise money for the Rainbows and LOROS hospices as part of the Accumulator Charity Challenge.

Each company has been handed £50 by the charities and will try to make as much money as possible from within three months.

Businesses taking part include Leicester law firm Bray & Bray and Leicestershire Health Information Service.

Each of the participants will be invited to an awards dinner in November at which prizes will be given out to those which have raised the most.

LOROS corporate fundraiser Alex Gamble said: "We are really exited about the challenge this year. The participants are all extremely enthusiastic and there have already been some fantastic ideas put forward.

"We wish everybody taking part the very best of luck."
