A restaurant owner who raised more than £100,000 for charity in five years has held a special thank-you evening for people who helped him reach the target.
Since 2007, Syed Rahman, of Cuisine of India, Kelmarsh Avenue, Wigston, has hosted fund-raising curry nights for about 30 different causes.
They include LOROS hospice, Menphys centre for disabled children, Rainbows, Wishes for Kids, East Midlands' Air Ambulance, the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Leicester Royal Infirmary's neonatal unit.
Sixty guests attended the celebration, including Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Jennifer, Lady Gretton, and Councillor Lynda Eaton, mayor of Oadby and Wigston.
Syed set himself a target of raising £100,000 by 2015 but achieved it three years early in November.
He said: "To celebrate, I invited the people who organised events and had raised more than £1,000 for their charities.
"I hope to raise another £200,000 over the next five years. Getting to this target has inspired me to do more."
