The Twilight Walk

On Saturday the 13th of April the King Power Stadium became a playground for nearly 1000 women dressed as schoolgirls who were taking part in the annual LOROS Twilight Walk.

The event saw women of all ages come together to take part in this fun-raising. The St Trinians theme was a big hit with naughty, giggling school girls and ‘LOROS’ headmasters to keep them in check there was a great atmosphere on the night.

As well as the camaraderie this event also provides a great opportunity to remember loved ones when women release the balloons with their special message attached prior to the start of the walk.

The event previously scheduled to take place on the 23rd of March had to be postponed at the last minute due to heavy snowfall in the city. However, LOROS were delighted that so many of the participants were able to make the new date and contribute to one of the biggest annual sponsored walk.

The 10k route which winds its way around Leicester City Centre proved no challenge for the LOROS Ladies who didn’t even let the April showers dampen their spirits.

Christian Weikert-Picker, organiser of the event said, “We would like to thank all of the participants and our volunteers who helped to make this event such an incredible success. I would like to say a special thank you to our sponsor, Cummins Solicitors, without whom the event could not have taken place.”

Due to the ever-growing success of this event, LOROS are already planning next year’s event which will have the theme 999-Emergency. Please look out for details on the website www.loros.co.uk/fundraising for more information.
