Fresh from her latest impressive fundraising exploits, Melton’s Claire Lomas was guest speaker at the LOROS Annual Ladies Luncheon at King Power Stadium in Leicester on Wednesday May 15th.

Claire, who completed the 2012 London Marathon in a robotic suit and has recently finished a 400 mile cycle challenge from Nottingham to London, proved an inspiration to everybody that attended the event.

The ladies were enthralled by Claire’s brave story and her comparisons on life before and after a riding accident in May 2007 that left her paralysed from the chest down.

During the event, Claire was also able to demonstrate the incredible robotic suit that she wore for 17 days in order to complete last year’s London Marathon.

Laura Betts, LOROS fundraiser, said: “We are delighted that Claire was able to join us as our Guest Speaker at this event, she is a remarkable woman who has accomplished so much. Her inspirational words combined with her wit and humility touched the hearts of everyone in the room.”

Next year’s Ladies Luncheon will take place on Wednesday May 14th at King Power Stadium with the guest speaker to be announced.
