The One Big Biking Success!

Eager cyclists came together at Rutland Water on Sunday 9th June for the annual event, the LOROS One Big Bike Ride.

The early morning start attracted 280 eager cyclists to Whitwell at Rutland Water where friends, families and even superheroes Batman and Robin on a tandem mounted their bikes to raise funds for LOROS Hospice.

This family event with routes of seven, 18 or 25 miles through the beautiful countryside had a leisurely feel with lots of smiling faces crossing the finish line.

Graham from Eyres Monsell said: “This was the first time I have got on my bike in years. I wanted to support the charity and encourage the family to help. LOROS is close to my heart and we want to raise as much money as possible in memory of a close friend. We all enjoyed the day, the weather was perfect and we even saw a Vulcan Bomber fly over the water.”
