More than 60 tables tennis players batted their way towards raising more than £2,000 for LOROS at an annual tournament.

A total of 16 teams, each with four players, representing legal and financefirms from across the city and county, gathered at HSBC's Grove Park, Enderby, offices.

The teams battled it out in the finals of a Tuesday night league held over the past month, with the £2,500 entry money raised from entry fees going to the charity.

More money raised from the raffle of a signed rugby shirt has to be added to the total.

Laura Betts, corporate fundraiser with the charity, said: "It's something HSBC organise annually. LOROS was presented with a cheque for £2,500 on the night.

"More than 70 people watched the finals.

"It was a really good night with the staff from the companies involved letting their hair down for a great social event.

"I hope they do it for LOROS again next year."
