Touched by the care and support her grandmother received there, a woman has raised more than £1,000 for LOROS hospice, Leicester.

Ria Law, 28, raised the cash with a sponsored skydive as a thank-you to the charity for the way staff and volunteers looked after her grandmother, Iris Scriggins.

Iris died at the hospice just before Christmas, 14 months after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was 77.

Ria, of Glen Parva, jumped out of a plane over Langar airfield in a tandem jump.

She said: "I want to thank all those generous people who have contributed to the funds I have raised.

"All the money is in now and I have raised more than £1,000, which is fantastic."
