The widow of a Loughborough mason has presented cheques totalling £1,000 to two charities in his name.

Margaret Armes sadly lost her husband David, the Worshipful Master of Howe and Charnwood Lodge, earlier this year.

Donations in tribute to David at his funeral in June have already led to £653.43 being sent to Prostaid and £723.43 being sent to British Heart Foundation in his memory. And Margaret, together with her son and grandchildren, alongside Barry Sayer from the Lodge, had the pleasure of presenting two further cheques to Diane Morris for LOROS and Norman Bell from Prostaid at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.

The donations for this totalled £1,000, so the money was divided equally between the two charities.

Alan Birchenall was also there for the cheque presentation.

Margaret told the Echo: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all who donated so generously to this wonderful amount.”
