Market Harborough Building Society (MHBS) invited two of its longest standing LOROS Savings Account customers to visit the LOROS Hospice in Leicester. The visit took place in November, where they met the staff and volunteers who work for the Hospice to learn more about what they do and the positive effects the money donated has on the Hospice and its patients.

MHBS customers, Chris and Rohini Corfield, said: “It was a real privilege to see how LOROS operates. We found the Hospice visit both insightful and inspiring. It has motivated us to carry on supporting the wonderful work done by LOROS. We are really fortunate to have a dynamic organisation like LOROS in our county.”

Since the LOROS Savings Account was launched in 2008, the society and its members have proudly supported this local cause, donating over £30,000. LOROS Hospice cares for patients where a cure is no longer possible, whilst also providing support for their families and carers. The charity relies upon the support of local people, companies and organisations in order to raise over £4 million of voluntary income each year.

MHBS joined with LOROS to allow customers to save and help their cause. Each year the society donates 0.5% of the average balances held in the account to the hospice, making a huge difference.

Mark Robinson, Chief Executive of Market Harborough Building Society, said: “We are very proud to support LOROS Hospice. Their presence in the local area is highly valued and they play a big part in supporting our community. I’d like to say a big thank you to our members for their on-going support.”
