A LOCAL fund-raising group has presented £1,000 each to two charities.
The Norman Byatt Memorial Fund was set up by Beverly Price and friends in memory of her father who passed away seven years ago and has given out more than £17,000 to local causes.
On December 21, the group presented LOROS with a cheque for £1,000 during a Christmas coffee morning at Beverly’s home in Seagrave Road, Sileby.
The Air Ambulance will also receive a £1,000 donation.
Beverly, who is a health care assistant at LOROS, told the Echo: “My Dad did a lot of fundraising for LOROS and Macmillan when he was alive. He was always such a big inspiration for us. If there was ever anything that needed supporting he would always put his hand in his pocket.
“We want to thank everybody that has supported us and contributed to this worthwhile cause. We are overwhelmed by the support we get. LOROS helped my mum so it is a charity close to our hearts.”
