The Sturgess Motor Garage on Narborough Road played host to The LOROS Accumulator Challenge Launch Event on Tuesday evening and saw organisations from throughout the county turn up to be presented with crisp £50 notes which they will attempt to “grow” over the next three months.

The launch party officially kicked the LOROS fundraising campaign off and will see 30 teams compete in order to try and win awards for “Most Money Raised” and “Most Innovative Idea”. Alt textLaura Betts, Partnership Development Executive at LOROS said; "After meeting some of the participants at last night's event, I think its fair to say that we have a highly competitive bunch this year! We are thrilled to have so many teams signed up; we have double the amount we had last year and I feel certain that they are going to generate a considerable amount for LOROS!”

Alastair Campbell, Director at The Ideal Marketing Company based in Market Harborough spoke at the event, motivating competitors and giving them useful hints and tips on how best to get started with Alt texttheir £50. Alastair sad; “It was great to see so many Leicester based businesses brimming with innovative ideas for how they can raise money for LOROS, although many were keeping their cards close to their chests. With so many teams and companies taking part in this year’s race to come out on top should be a close one.”

In previous years The Accumulator Challenge has mainly been aimed at corporates; however this year LOROS have inspired colleges, community organisations and one man bands to get involved. Laura Betts said; “The great thing about The Accumulator Challenge is that ANYONE can get involved – for those that have never done fundraising before, it’s the perfect way to start as we actually give you £50 to get you started!”

If you are interested in signing up to The Accumulator Challenge, it’s not too late. Simply visit loros.co.uk/accumulator, register and LOROS will arrange to get a welcome pack along with your £50 out to you.
