Despite quaking in her boots, Laura Jolliffe is preparing herself to fall 13,000 feet from a plane to say thank you to the amazing people at LOROS, who looked after her Granddad so caringly during his final days.

She is hoping that her dare devil antics will help raise at least £300 for LOROS who provide free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients and their families.

Laura, who is 21 years old and lives in Leicester, said, “I cannot express how grateful we all are for the way Granddad Norman was looked after during his stay at the hospice. It is an amazing place and we were all made to feel so welcome and at home during our visits there. "He was admitted on Friday 3rd May and passed away on Tuesday 7th. All the doctors and nurses treated him and all the family with dignity, care and compassion. He was in his own room, which was lovely, with fresh flowers and a door onto the garden area. We were able to stay over the night before he died so that we could be close by.

"I know that Granddad would be so proud of what I am doing and would have been encouraging me all the way.

"This is my way of celebrating his life and honouring his memory whilst giving a little back to the people who cared for him so well."

Laura will be completing her jump, weather permitting, over the weekend 17/18th May but it is not too late to sponsor her.
