20 pub teams clubbed together to raise over £2,400 for charity at Everards’ fifth annual Golf Day.

20 teams including 16 Everards pub teams played in the annual charity competition at Rothley Park Golf Club to help raise funds for LOROS. Chairman Richard Everard presented the donation to LOROS Ambassador Derick Horsfall.

The Everards foundation team donated £50 for every team that beat them and on this occasion they were beaten by 11 teams! A 12th hole competition was also held where the participants were given the chance to double their money if they hit the greens. Everybody who accomplished this big-heartedly added their winnings to the total donation. In addition, donations were made through sponsorship and a competition in Everards pubs prior to the day.

During the event there were prizes for the longest drive and nearest to the pin for men and ladies as well as prizes for first, second and third place, with lots of great golf prizes. The leading Everards pub teams were The Cherry Tree, Market Harborough and The Stamford Arms, Groby.

LOROS is a local charity that cares for over 2,500 people a year across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. They provide free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers.

It costs £7.5 million each year for LOROS to deliver their service and need to raise at least £4.5 million each year from the local community.
