The committee at Soar Valley Riding Club unfortunately lost one of their much loved members, Ron, here at LOROS and so wanted to do something in his memory with the hope of raising vital funds for the place that cared for him before he passed away.

On Sunday 8th June they held their first show of the season in his honour and collected donations for LOROS via collection buckets and a raffle.

With a fancy dress class, gymkhana games and a show jumping round both for ponies and dogs it proved to be a great day out which was well supported by the local community and went on to raise a fantastic £1267.00!

Event organiser Emma Tyson said “Ron would be really chuffed with this result, we all had a fantastic day and the weather even behaved itself!”.

Laura Betts, LOROS Fundraiser said; “Soar Valley Riding Club have kicked off their show season in style, it was a fantastically organised event and everyone involved had such a wonderful time.

"LOROS feel privileged to have been associated with such a lovely memorial event. Without the support of community groups such as this it would not be possible to continue providing our unique and specialist care to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, so thank you!”.
