On Wednesday 25th June, a team of volunteers from Barclays worked throughout the day to create a wonderfully peaceful outdoor space to be utilised by patients and their families while visiting the Hospice.

The proactive Barclays team, which included Business Managers from different Leicestershire and Coventry branches, worked hard from the outset of this project researching suitable colours and themes which would create a serene setting for visitors to relax and enjoy the gardens in the heat of the summer months. The new look summer house, which now resembles a seaside beach house, can be seen just beyond the social area at the rear of the Hospice.

Jaimal Patel, Barclays Business Manager from Belgrave branch, said: “We are so grateful to LOROS for allowing the Barclays Business Team to help make your patients’ lives more enjoyable and to have the opportunity to help make better use of this beautiful space”

Magdalena Korytkowska, Partnership Development Assistant at LOROS, said: “The summerhouse has been given a make-over! The walls have been painted in a lovely shade of ‘forget-me-not’ blue, pictures have been put on the walls and chairs and plants have been added which helps to create a home from home feel for the patients. We are very grateful to Barclays for the hard work and hours spent on this project. We do hope Barclays had a fantastic teambuilding day which made such a big difference to our patients and their families!”
