LOROS volunteers enjoy party atmosphere at the MELA Bazaar

On Bank Holiday Monday Leicester Market was transformed into an Indian Bazaar, packed full of all kinds of stands, including our own LOROS one.

The bazaar is part of the the Leicester Belgrave Mela Festival which is organised annually by Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre, in association with Star Plus and supported by Leicester City Council.

Approximately 25,000 people attend the event each year to experience a glittering mix of live music, dance, food, fashion arts and culture, so it is a great showcase to raise awareness about the LOROS Hospice.

The LOROS team, including Rae, Shig, Nayna and Suresh worked very hard throughout the day; they encouraged people to join the LOROS Lottery, purchase LOROS scratch cards and talked to people about the work carried out at the Hospice.

Magdalena Korytkowska, Partnership Development Assistant at LOROS said, “Many thanks to the organisers of this event for giving us this fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about our services.

"The LOROS brand is widely recognised throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland but these kind of events help us to reach out to people who may not know about their local Hospice. It’s very beneficial for our organisation to provide them with information about the help we provide to 2,500 terminally ill people and their families each year.”
