In memory of Fal

Veena and her family lost the most pure, selfless and beautiful soul only a month ago.

Fal, pictured right, and better known to a lot of her family and friends as Resh, fought bravely against one of the most aggressive types of stomach cancer, that only gave her a year from the time she was diagnosed.

Veena said: "As a family we are still reeling from how quickly she was taken from us.

"In Fal's true fashion, she wanted to spare her loved ones from seeing her last days in the family home, where we would undoubtedly find the memories even more painful and heart wrenching; she wanted to avoid us reliving it in the home she loved and not so long ago, lost our father in. Fal decided that she wanted to spend her final days at LOROS, a local hospice close to her heart.

"The care, support and empathy that Fal and her family received was overwhelming. LOROS never said 'no' to any request, it was indeed home from home. Fal's ever smiling, serene face, was mirrored by hard working staff and the invaluable, compassionate volunteers - and for that we thank you."

Action speaks louder than words so, as per Fal's request, Bham - a very good friend of Veena's - has organised for her family and friends to raise funds for LOROS by running the Run or Dye in London on 27th September. They hope that the donations they raise will help facilitate other families during their hours of need, as it did theirs.
