On Friday 12th September Palmers Garden Centre at Enderby organised their first ever Charity Dinner Dance, which was an outstanding success.

They raised an amazing £1145 for LOROS from their ticket sales and raffle; this is equivalent to the cost of a LOROS Community Nurse Specialist being able to visit 11 terminally ill patients in their homes in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland. A great example of what an amazing difference Palmers Garden Centre, and the people who attended their event, will make to our patients.

Next time you’re at the centre don’t forget to allow time to pop in for a cup of tea and some yummy homemade cake!

LOROS representatives were selling raffle tickets during the night; the wonderful prizes were also donated by Palmers, including a gas BBQ worth £350! John Beeson, who won an orchid worth £60, kindly donated it to LOROS, so now everyone can admire the beauty of this flower at the LOROS Reception.

Alex Gamble, Partnership Development Executive at LOROS said: “The event at Palmers Garden Centre was in full swing in aid of LOROS. The food was fantastic, the staff brilliant and their new venue so lovely! We would like to say a massive thank you to them for their continued support. They have been helping us for such a long time by raising money and supporting us in every possible way; it’s very much appreciated.

"We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather when the team undertake their skydiving challenge, and are looking forward to hearing all about it. Their support truly helps us to make a difference to our 2,500 patients and their families each year!”

"We are also very grateful for their generous donation of two Christmas trees for our Light up a Life service."
