Julie & Jo are shaving their heads for LOROS

Well what can I say - Julie (Finch) and I (Jo Echlin) are most definitely crackers....

Many of you know LOROS is a hospice for terminally ill patients; the staff deliver the very best of care and nothing is too much trouble. If any of you have been to visit a loved one in LOROS you will know what a wonderful, peaceful place it is and how amazing the staff are. Several of my friends and family have been looked after at the Hospice, so we decided that we should do something to help raise funds for them.

Julie came up with the idea of having her head shaved and very foolishly, I agreed. I must be bonkers as I've now got to go through customs in New Zealand with no hair; I hope they let me through as it's an awfully long way back if they don't! Teresa Smith, who is helping us, isn't having her head shaved but is working very hard to help with our fundraising efforts.

We will be holding a fundraising party on the 29th November when we will have our heads shaved in front of an audience - I think a few drinks will be in order prior to the big event.

We originally set our fundraising target at £500 but are overwhelmed by how much people have already given - our total is currently £1,295.50. With several weeks left before the deed is done we are now hoping to at least quadruple our original target.

If you would like to help us raise funds for such a deserving charity, please visit our Just Giving page - thank you.
