Brush raises funds for LOROS

Brush, based in Loughborough, recently organised a fun day for their employees in aid of local Hospices LOROS and Rainbows. It was a fantastic event attended by 4000 guests, with lots of attractions for all the family. The children played on bouncy castles and enjoyed the fun fair whilst adults could listen to some amazing acts including a Queen Tribute band.

Once again our dedicated LOROS volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got down to work running a 'hook a duck' stall, selling LOROS scratch cards and nearly 600 raffle tickets. Many thanks to Julie, Mike, Carol, Richard and Pete for their hard work during the day and to all those who donated items for the raffle, helping to make it such a huge success (please see full list below).

The money raised from the raffle alone, could pay for 11 complementary therapy sessions for our patients or a member of their families. This is a great example of how your fundraising events make such a huge difference to our organisation and the local community.

Paul Welsh, Unite Convenor, very kindly donated £100 to LOROS on behalf of Unite the Union and the cheque was presented to LOROS Senior Fundraiser, Adrian Walker, on the day. We would like to thank Mr Welsh for his generosity.

The event was also very successful for the LOROS Lottery. Ten new LOROS Lottery players joined during the day and volunteers sold 174 scratched cards. Many thanks to Shig, Pete and Richard for their hard and dedicated work.

And lastly, LOROS would like to thank Brush for their amazing donation of £1,500.00. This raised their grand total to a massive £2080.30 which is equivalent to the cost of a nurse, providing specialist care for our patients for almost three weeks. LOROS is proud to say that 90% of all money donated goes towards patient care.

Alex Gamble, Partnership Development Executive at LOROS said: “We are very grateful to Brush for inviting us to be part of their family fun day. We are certain that the event will mark a very successful beginning to our partnership. We would like to thank Elaine Mack from Brush for her help and dedication."
