Leicestershire Sikh Alliance held a clothes drive for a number of charities including LOROS and a Children in Need fundraiser at the city’s main temple, Guru Tegh Bahadur Gurdwara, in East Park Road. The event was held to mark the birth date of the religion’s founder, Sri Guru Nanak.

A whopping 275 bags of new and second hand clothing and toys were donated to LOROS for sale in the Hospices' 25 charity shops.

Elaine Godber, Corporate and Community Relations Co-ordinator was overwhelmed with the amount of donations and the generosity of the Sikh community. She said: “It was a truly wonderful day and we are delighted that LOROS was chosen as one of the benefactors of the kind donations. The estimated value is approx £6500 based on an average bag being sold for £25; many of the donated items were brand new! It was a great privilege and an honor to be part of this fundraising event, thank you so much to everyone at the Leicestershire Sikh Alliance for inviting LOROS along and for their continued support of our Hospice”
