Church's Coffee Mornings raise over £8,000

Members of the Baptist Church in Mountsorrel have been holding weekly Coffee Mornings in aid of LOROS Hospice since 2001.

They raised almost £600 throughout 2014 which brings their total donations to more than £8,000.

Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser at LOROS said: "I was delighted to be invited to the Church's coffee morning to accept this year's donation, it gave me the opportunity to be able to acknowledge and thank them for their wonderful fundraising efforts.

"The £8,000 represents so much hard work from all the volunteers and we truly appreciate this. The cost per hour of running the charity is £850, so the money they have raised could have kept LOROS running for almost 10 hours; that takes some accomplishing and I hope they are very proud of what they have achieved."
