Errol runs up more than £3,000 for LOROS

Just after a year since Errol's wife Sam, died from malignant melanoma, he decided to try and raise money for LOROS in her memory.

Errol said: "LOROS do amazing work and cared for Sam with great compassion in her last days, providing tremendous support too. I wanted to do something to raise funds for this wonderfully caring, local charity to repay their kindness and honour Sam's memory.

"The loss of Sam doesn't get any easier and she affected so many people's lives. She would no doubt be laughing at me doing this run as..well...running isn't really my thing. I get bored running on the treadmill after just 10 minutes!"

Errol, who completed the run back in October, has now collated all his sponsorship monies and came into the Hospice to present us with the total, which was an amazing £3,242.36.

Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser at LOROS said: "We are delighted that Errol managed to complete the course - and in a very reputable 1hr and 53 minutes too. We are aware that running is not top of his favourite activities, so his achievement is all the more remarkable!

"LOROS rely on the fundraising activities of our local community so that we can be there – caring when it matters. The money Errol has raised will help us to offer care and support to some of the 2,500 people who are treated at the Hospice every year.

"Errol - Thank you for making a difference."
