The LOROS Accumulator Challenge 2015 has officially kicked off today and we would like to wish everyone the very best of luck!

We would also like to say a massive thank you to the 20 teams from local businesses and organisations who are all set to make a difference to LOROS patients and their families. The groups are from:

33rd/65th Leicester Scout Troop
British Gas Services (Aylestone Road) – 7 teams!
Caterpillar UK Limited
Coventry Building Society
Freedom Care
Gateley LLP
HRG Leicester Office
Lime Tree Day Nursery
Madani Schools Federation - Boys School
Madani Schools Federation - Girls School
Palmers Garden Centre
Spearing Waite LLP
The Plant Man
The Taylor Bloxham Group

They each have three months to grow their £50 and we can’t wait to see their exciting ideas blossoming and their funds increasing.

As well as raising vital funds for the Hospice, the participants will be competing for the "Most Innovative Idea”, "Most Engaging Idea" and "Most Money Raised".

Magdalena Korytkowska, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS said: “Each year LOROS need to raise a minimum of £4.5 million to continue providing our services free of charge to local terminally ill people, so their participation teams taking part in this campaign really helps us to help others.

"Last year's challenge raised well over £6,000 which is equivalent to the cost of a LOROS Community Nurse Specialist being able to visit 65 terminally ill patients in their homes in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland.

"This year's Challenge will end on Wednesday the 17th June and the winners will be announced during our Awards Evening. I hope that the teams will enjoy the challenge and that the next three months will be great fun for them.”
