M W Vehicle Contracts Limited of Billesdon in Leicestershire recently received a cheque for £500 from one of their suppliers. They had been the very lucky winners of one of their regular incentive draws.

David Palmer, Operations Director, said: "The funds were due to be split between the 18 members of staff employed in our offices. Instead it was decided that the money should be donated to a local charity.

"We have huge respect for the work that LOROS carries out, and for the compassion and care provided to its patients and their families. It was therfore unanimously decided that LOROS should be the chosen charity to receive these funds.

"The directors of M W Vehicle Contracts decided that they would like to match the £500 so we are sending a cheque for £1,000 which we know will be put to the very best of use."

Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser at LOROS said: "I would like to thank all the staff at M W Vehicle Contracts for their extremely kind donation and to the Directors, who very generously doubled it!

"LOROS has to raise £4.5 million every year to ensure that we can continue to provide our much needed services to patients and their families. We are proud to say that 90% of all donations go directly to patient care, so you can be sure that your £1,000 will indeed be put to very good use.

"As an example, it may be used to pay for 2 days of complementary therapy for patients and carers, 10 Community Nurse Specialist visits to patients in their own home or for 40 hours of care for one of our inpatients."

"Your donation truly HAS made a difference - Thank you once again."
