Hawthorns raise Hospice funds with cake sale

It was cakes galore at Hawthorn Theatrical, based in Old Dalby, when they held a coffee morning on the 26th March to raise money for LOROS.

Jules Crawley, PA to the Managing Director at Hawthorns , said: "The girls in the Drapes department, headed by Lorna Simons, organised the coffee morning with the idea of raising money for LOROS after a former work colleague benefitted from her stay at the Hospice recently.

"Volunteers baked glorious delights for the taste buds and such a high volume of cakes were baked everyone was still enjoying them the next day and they raised a whopping £250 for the charity!"

On Wednesday 6th May Laura Betts, representing LOROS, attended the Hawthorn premises to received their cheque.

Laura said: "LOROS are delighted that Hawthorns continue to show such dedication and commitment to our cause.

"They have been so supportive of LOROS and we are really looking forward to working with them again later in the year on our Prohibition themed Ball on Saturday 28th November”.
