Classic cars and burlesque dancers join forces for LOROS

Scantily clad dancers and classic cars will combine to create a unique evening dedicated to raising money for LOROS.

The charity event at Stoney Cove on Thursday June 4 brings regular organisers Junkyard Cruisers together with TC Burlesque for a car show with a difference.

The evening, which kicks off at 7pm, is one of a series of showcases run by Hinckley friends Jo Ward and Hayley Alesbrooke-Sewell who make up TC Burlesque.

Jo said: “Myself and my husband Anthony run Junkyard Cruisers hotrod and custom car club and we hold regular meetings at Stoney Cove all year round on the first Thursday of the month plus on the third Tuesdays during the summer.

“Hayley and I did a burlesque show recently which raised more than £550 for LOROS and it went down really well with people asking when we were going to do another so I thought we could mix the car club with a burlesque night and raise some more money for charity.

“There will be plenty of space for classic car owners to come and show off their vehicles and also for spectators. We will also be running a tombola, the dancers will be going round with collection tins and there will be live music and trade stalls as well as a the chance to get your car or even your clothing pinstriped which is custom pattern painting.”

Jo said they had chosen LOROS because everyone is touched in some way by cancer and they were impressed with the work the hospice did and the care provided to those with life-limiting illnesses, including her aunt who spent time there at the end of her life.

Other events in the pipeline from TC Burlesque are a Summer Tease on Saturday June 27 at Bulkington War Memorial Club featuring a compere, vintage singer, two headline dancers and amateur ladies strutting their stuff.

Tickets are £10, which will include a sweet treat and fizz, and are available from the club. Again all proceeds will be donated to LOROS.

An autumn event will take place on Saturday October 24 at The Queens Hall in Nuneaton. Tickets are £10. For more information like TC Burlesque on Facebook.
