Pack up your picnics and enjoy an evening of live entertainment and fireworks for this year's annual Music in the Park at Wistow Hall, in aid of LOROS Hospice.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Wigston, the event will see local bands Krisis, along with Hathern Band take to the stage with a mixture of popular songs, including 'The Last Night of the Proms'.

The concert, which is once again being compered by Carolyn Oldershaw, will be topped off with a fabulous firework display in front of Wistow Hall.

LOROS Senior Fundraiser and event committee member, Adrian Walker said: "This is one of the best music events in the county and with two great bands, along with the fireworks finale, it is always something special.

"We are very grateful to the Rotary Club of Wigston who organise the event and the Brooks family for very kindly granting permission to stage the event in the picturesque grounds of Wistow Hall.

"Come along and in turn help support local charities."

The event is for all ages and families are asked to bring their own picnic rugs, tables and chairs. Hot drinks and snacks will be available from the LOROS Wigston Support Group stall throughout the evening.

Gates open 5.30pm, with music starting from 7.30pm and the finale and firework display at approximately lOpm.

Advanced tickets are currently being sold at the bargain price of £15 for adults, £5 for 10-16-year olds and under lO's go free. Tickets are available from all 25 of the LOROS Shops throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and other local outlets. The ticket hotline for card payments is (0116) 2318431.

Adult tickets can be bought on the night for £17.50, with children still at £5.

There is free on site car parking.

The profits from the event will be going to LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice, Leicester Charity Link and Rotary Charities.
