Freedom Care get on their bikes for LOROS

For three days last week the Freedom Care team took over the Beaumont Shopping Centre to stage a static bike ride in aid of LOROS.

As part of their Accumulator Challenge, their aim was to support their colleague, Andy, who was actually en route from John o'Groats to Lands End, also raising funds for LOROS.

Ably supported by members of the public the team successfully finished their 930 mile static cycle raising a superb £857.

Magdalena Korytkowska, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS said: "This is another example of great teamwork from the Freedom Care team. It is so good to see our teams working right up to the last minute to raise as much money as they can for their local hospice.

"I was there supporting them for a while and took a turn on one of the machines - it's definitely harder than you think. I have great admiration for ther commitment and especially Andy's - who is doing the whole 930 miles!

"I have no idea what their final Accumulator total will be, but the £857 they raised from this event alone could pay for 34 hours of care for one of our inpatients."

"I am looking forward to meeting up with them at the Awards Ceremony and hearing more about all their activities."
