As part of their Accumulator Challenge the Freedom Care team bought tubes of smarties which they gave away to willing participants on the strict understanding that, once they had eaten the contents, they had to refill their tubes with 20p pieces.

Katrina Kinch, Director of Freedom Care said: "We finished up with £632.60 but held a draw for all the people that returned full tubes. We gave out cash prizes amounting to £75, so the final amount added to our Accumulator Challenges was £557.60.

"We actually really enjoyed this task... It was a challenge that our children, other family members and our friends were also able to get involved in.

"My kids were searching people's pockets for 20p's!"

Magdalena Korytkowska, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS added: "This is the sort of challenge that everyone could enjoy - so simple but so profitable; what a great idea!

Our challenge finished yesterday so everyone is now looking forward to the Awards evening and I am really excited to see who will win our competitions."
