Three close friends played a gruelling 72 holes of golf together on Friday, at Melton Mowbray Golf Club, in aid of LOROS.

Paul Ward, Matt Swann and Mark Tubb (54 holes) completed the challenge in memory of their friend Richard ‘Beefy’ Hampson who died in February.

The trio started playing at 5am and finished their last round at 8.20pm.

Paul of Shelley Avenue said: “Melton Mowbray Golf Club were very kind and let us use their course.

“The weather stayed fine and everyone at the club was very supportive throughout the whole day.

“We’ve managed to raise over £1,000 so far for LOROS care hospice, in memory of our friend Richard who spent the last three weeks of his life receiving excellent care whilst he was ill.

“It was a tough but fun day which we were pleased to take part in. We were very tired at the end.”

It’s not too late to donate or sponsor the guys either. To do so call Paul on (07917) 007431.
