During his year as president of the Rotary Club of Leicester Novus, Dipan Bhagalia encouraged members to support Leicestershire hospice charity LOROS.

Throughout the year members not only raised funds by taking part in a sponsored walk, and by holding a chef demo at which they and their guests learned how to make curries, they also marshalled two sponsored walks organised by the charity.

And then, as a surprise to all present, member Sarita Shah presented a further £51 which members of her community had raised for the organisation.
