LOROS Hospice is turning 30 this month and they want everyone in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to help give them a birthday to remember.

Three decades ago, on September 2nd 1985, the Hospice opened its doors and welcomed its first ever patient.

So, for the next 30 days, the charity will be encouraging people to support their 30 For 30 campaign by doing 30 things for LOROS while raising £30 for the Hospice at the same time.

LOROS CEO John Knight said: “This is such an exciting year for LOROS and we want the whole of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to be involved.

“Turning 30 is a huge milestone for the Hospice and LOROS has developed so much over the past three decades - it’s extraordinary to think that we’ve gone from having just a dozen beds to more than 30.

“Over the years LOROS has become a big part of the community and we want everyone to help us celebrate turning 30.

“So get your thinking caps on, get fundraising and join in the fun this September.”

Whether it is reading 30 books, swimming 30 lengths of the pool, completing a 30-hour dance-a-thon, or walking 30 dogs, everyone can get involved with the campaign.

From footballers to students, to guides and brownies, absolutely anyone is being encouraged to make LOROS the charity of their choice this September.

The £30 raised could pay for six patient’s meals for a day, or it could pay for one hour of care for a patient at LOROS.

£300 could pay for two patients to attend day therapy at LOROS and £3000 could pay for the care of an inpatient for six days at the Hospice.

To donate online visit loros.co.uk/30 or text ‘CARE24 30’ to 70070 to give £30.

Over September, LOROS Hospice wants to hear from everybody who is getting involved with their campaign. If you are thinking of organising an event or would like more information, email: marketing@loros.co.uk

Remember to upload all of your photos, videos and fundraising efforts on social media, using the hashtag ‘LOROS30’.
