Santander staff 'spread the word' for LOROS

The Santander team based at Carlton Park recently volunteered to help LOROS by distributing posters and flyers and spreading the word about some of our upcoming fundraising events.

Prior to undertaking their volunteer tasks, the team were invited to take a tour of the Hospice.

Stephen Cooke, a member of the team said: “It was a very informative and moving tour which was enjoyed by everyone. Hopefully, the leaflets we distributed will be successful in encouraging people to attend the functions and raise funds for this very worthy cause.

"Judging by how people responded to the name, it was very apparent that LOROS has a fantastic reputation locally and people were pleased to help where and how they could.”

Gemma Edwards added: “We distributed leaflets and posters to all sorts of cafes, pubs and shops (independent and chains) and also to the library and the Adult Education college. A number of people were going to look into Yellow Day for their staff and several people seemed interested in the Walk on the Wild Side as well, so we hope that there will be some success there.”

Magdalena Korytkowska, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS said: "We really look forward to the visits from our Santander volunteers - they are always so helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble to them.

"They did a tremendous job putting the word out about our events and campaigns over the next few weeks and I have no doubt their enthusiasm about LOROS will have rubbed off on anyone they came into contact with.

"I would like to say a very big thank you to them from everyone at LOROS"
