The LOROS Operations team decided to hold their own event to celebrate LOROS' 30th birthday and raise funds at the same time; they were joined by a few members from other departments, who thought it was a great idea.

Thirsty for 30, the brainchild of IT Support Engineer, Alan Law, challenged the team to visit 30 local pubs. They began their journey at 9am on Saturday 26th September with breakfast at The Friary.

The challenge ended at 5pm at the Orange Tree. On the way they popped into Molly O'Gradys, The Market Tavern, Alt textThe Corn Exchange, The Lamplighters, O'Neills, Cosy Club, Foxie Browns, Maiyango, The Highcross, The Globe, The Slug and Lettuce, The Reynard, The Kings, Fat Cat Bar, Manhattan34, The Exchange, Rutland & Derby, Yates's, The Rainbow and Dove, The Ale Wagon, Taps, Criterion, Crumbling Cookie, Bruxelles, Richard III, The Queen of Bradgate and the Apres Lounge - bu not necessarily in that order!

The event was supported by all the pubs who each donated a pint of beer which was shared by members of the team and meant that they could donate what they should have paid to LOROS. The general public also gave generously and theAlt text final total was an amazing £335.87. On top of this, nine new collection boxes were found new homes - all in all a great result!

Congratulations to everyone who took part and well done on a fabulous donation. We hope you didn't suffer too badly from your self imposed hangovers but, as you all know, it was for a wonderful cause!
