AN OPTICIANS in Leicester is holding a second-hand book sale between 19 - 26 October in a bid to raise money for LOROS Hospice in Leicester.

Specsavers at 8 – 10 Belgrave Gate, Leicester, will be inviting locals to browse the wide range of titles kindly donated by its staff. All money raised will be donated to the LOROS Hospice in Leicester, which provides free, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients.

Magdalena Korytkowska, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS Hospice, says: ‘We really appreciate this fundraising effort by Specsavers in Leicester. We care for 2,500 patients every year across Leicestershire and Rutland, and it costs us 7.5 million annually to deliver our services to those in need. We wish the Specsavers team good luck with their fundraising. Their support makes a real difference to the people we care for.”

The store will be decked out with balloons and banners throughout the week, while staff will wear LOROS t-shirts to show their support.

Stephen Bell, store director at Specsavers in Leicester, says: ‘LOROS Hospice is an incredible charity that is a rock of support for many people in the area. We really want to make this book sale a success and raise as much money as possible. We can’t do it without you, so please pop in and treat yourself to a new page-turner.’
