Hollyoaks star Charlie Clapham will be raising money for LOROS by giving fans the chance to be pierced by him on Sunday.

The 24-year-old actor, who grew up in Humberstone, will be returning to the tattoo and piercing shop his parents own, Kazbah, in Leicester, as a special treat to raise money for the local Hospice.

To help LOROS celebrate turning 30, the team at Kazbah have agreed to donate all proceeds from the first 30 piercings to LOROS – as well as any money taken after 5pm.

Charlie said: “I’ve wanted to do something for LOROS for ages and now, with them turning 30, this seems like the perfect time.

“LOROS makes those last days, weeks, months and years for people so much more comfortable – I take my hat off to the people who work there, it’s such an amazing place.

“For personal reasons, LOROS means a lot to us, it’s not just any charity.I’m chuffed to bits that we can do this for them.”

Charlie, who plays Freddie Roscoe in the Channel 4 programme, is currently the talk of soap-town after his character was involved in a dramatic ‘did he or didn’t he die?’ storyline.

“I’m inviting anybody to come along, even if they don’t want a piercing, they can still come in and say hi, or have a photo, or get a signed photograph,” added Charlie.

Charlie’s mum, Julie, said that since announcing the piercing day was taking place, they have been inundated with phone calls inquiring from all over.

“I have a feeling it’s going to be crazy,” she said.

“The fans have gone wild, people have been calling me from Manchester and Scotland – it’s going to be a big day.

“We want to make as much money as we can for LOROS, it’s going to be fantastic.”

The day will kick off at 10am, no booking required.
