Hollyoaks star and LOROS Ambassador Charlie Clapham has raised nearly £1000 for the Hospice, after visiting the Leicester charity last week.

The 24-year-old actor held a piercing day on Sunday (NOV 15th), at the piercing studio his family own, Kazbah, in Leicester.

The soap star gave fans the chance to get pierced by him, with money from the first 30 piercings going to LOROS, as well as all everything taken after 5pm.

“It was such a fantastic day,” said Charlie, who grew up in Humberstone.

“It couldn’t have gone any better and everyone was so generous with their donations. One littler girl put all of her pocket money in the LOROS bucket and all she wanted was a cuddle, it was so lovely.

“There were so many people there, it was crazy.”

The event raised nearly £1000 for the charity, which cares for terminally ill adults in Leicester and Leicestershire.

“I am hugely proud of the money raised,” added Charlie.

“It was a lovely event and so nice to see so many fans, some of whom just wanted a photo or a hug.

“It was overwhelming to see so many people who had travelled just to see me.”

Last week, staff at LOROS asked Charlie to become an Ambassador for the charity following his visit to the Hospice last Thursday.

“Being asked to become an ambassador for LOROS is one of the best things ever,” he said.

“I was overwhelmed to be asked. It is an absolute honour for me to become a LOROS Ambassador, it’s right up there as one of the highlights of my life.”

LOROS Community Lead, Adrian Walker said he was extremely pleased that Charlie has agreed to become a LOROS Ambassador.

“When Charlie visited the Hospice last week, he was a total natural around our patients, their families, our volunteers and members of staff,” said Adrian.

“We knew immediately that we wanted to get him on board and it was our pleasure to ask him to become a LOROS Ambassador.

“We really think Charlie will help raise both awareness and funds for LOROS, especially among younger people.

“Charlie has already commenced working with LOROS, by organising his piercing day in Leicester, and we’re all excited to work with him in the future.”

Tattoo and Piercing studio, Kazbah, will continue supporting the Hospice throughout the month, as they are giving every customer a LOROS Raffle ticket and donating £1 – the cost of a ticket – to the charity, up until November 28th, when the raffle finishes.
