Western Park Golf Club was disbanded as a result of the closure of the course by Leicester City Council and its Members voted to donate the residue of their funds to LOROS rather than have it returned to them.

Steve Sibley and Tony Sharp recently came to LOROS to present their cheque to the Hospice.

Andrew Ward, Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS, said: "We would like to thank all the members for their very kind gesture and especially Tony and Steven, who gave up their time to visit the Hospice.

"The £642 donated by the members could pay for one of our Community Nurse Specialists to visit six patients in their own homes, providing free care and support to patients and their family members."
