Jake Garner, aged 22, has been fundraising for LOROS since his father was an inpatient at the Hospice in 2013.

Jake said: "I’ve supported LOROS since my dad began his battle with terminal oesophageal cancer and LOROS helped to look after him.

"They gave him the best life possible and, most importantly, organised for him to marry my step-mum just a few months before he sadly passed away.

"The care that LOROS generously gave my dad and my family prompted me to give something back, in the way of raising money for the charity."

Alt textOver the last couple of years, Jake has ran a couple of half marathons, held a successful charity night and hosted cake sales. His latest venture, a festive 5k Fun Run with his work colleagues at George Clothing, was another roaring success and raised £705.

Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS said: “Jake's latest collection of £705 is another fantastic achievement – well done to him and his team at George, Lutterworth.

"This takes Jake's fundraising total to more than £5,800, which could pay for the cost of one of our specialist nurses for 2 whole months. That is a truly remarkable achievement Jake - Thank You so much.

"Jake has told me that he will continue fundraising for us and already has plans for events in 2016 - I look forward to hearing all about them.

"I'm also delighted that Jake is able to accept our invitation to visit the Hospice and see how his generosity is going to help us to help others and I look forward to thanking him in person for his continued support."
