Selina Morgan, an employee at the Queens Road store, said: "As part of our commitment to our 'Charity of the Year', we decided to purchase some goods that could be useful to LOROS at Christmas time.

"I decided to try and increase the contribution by encouraging other Sainsbury's stores and local shops to donate too.

"I was delighted when Clarendon Park Local, Granby Street, Gloucester Crescent Wigston, Wigston Moat St, Hinckley Clifton Way, Hinckley Road Local, Wigston Leicester Road, Branston Local, Morley St Local, Leicester Hamilton Local and Long Eaton Tamworth Road all gave very generously and we were able to amass more than £800 worth of goods."

Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS, added: "It was a pleasure to meet all the Sainsbury store representatives and to be able to thank them personally for their very thoughtful donations.

"The mince pies and Christmas hampers were used by our Day Therapy for their Christmas Fayre, some of the goods will be used by fundraising as raffle prizes and others by the Hospice Kitchen staff in order to prepare delicious meals. The drinks will go on our drink trolley for the patients. Everyone here at LOROS enjoys this kind and very generous donation from Sainsbury's for which we are very grateful.

"We would like to thank all stores involved for their valuable support to the Hospice and we wish them all a very Happy Christmas".

If you would like to support your local Hospice this Christmas and make the LOROS patients and their family members smile, please do not hesitate to contact the LOROS Fundraising Department on 0116 231 8431/2 or fundraising@loros.co.uk
