Thanks to their hard work and support, customers at the Leicester branch of Coventry Building Society helped the staff members to raise a phenomenal £5,689.74 since they nominated LOROS as their Community Partner in 2014.

The colleagues raised the money by holding local raffles, cake sales, tombola stalls and a Valentine's event and also entered teams into the LOROS Twilight Walk, Walk on the Wildside and the Accumulator Challenge. Their total was boosted by an extra £250 Staff Community Grant from the Coventry.

Julie Ball, Manager at Coventry Building Society's Leicester branch said: "We were thrilled when we raised a total of £1,691.69 during 2014 and I can hardly believe that we more than doubled that in 2015 when we made a massive £3,998.05

"We've sold samosas, books, cakes, chicks, valentines gifts and passbook covers; we've donated everything from socks to spaghetti, walked around Leicester, Hinckley and Bradgate and been fed by our very own 'tuck shop'.

On top of all that our colleague Naseem, has continued to volunteer on Sunday afternoons at the Hospice and we've 'bag packed' at Fosse Park and in the City centre.

"We have worked really hard as a team to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause but we couldn't have done it without the help of our customers, friends and families. A huge, huge thank you to everyone for being so supportive.

"I'm sure that 2016 will be even bigger and better and will see us break the £6,000 mark. With another Accumulator Challenge on the horizon, who knows what the figure will be by the end of the year!"

Magdalena Korytkowska, Corporate Fundraising Co-ordinator at LOROS added: "I went to Coventry Building Society's Leicester branch to congratulate everyone on their superb achievement and to thank them so much for giving their continued support to LOROS.

"The £5,689.74 they have raised so far could pay for 38 patients to attend our Day Therapy Service or for one of our specialist nurses for eight weeks.

"They have done a wonderful job and I'm looking forward to working alongside them throughout 2016."

There are many ways that your company can get involved and support LOROS, whether it is in a financial manner, or by volunteering your time.
