A fundraising day held in memory of John Pridmore has raised over £1,300 for LOROS Hospice.

John was a keen fell walker up in The Lake District before he died at LOROS just before Christmas on 21st Dec last year.

The team, led by John's daughter, Rebecca Pridmore, organised the event at The West End Working Men’s Club on Braunstone Avenue.

Joining the team were John's wife Margaret, Alexia, Stacey, Emma, Trish, Debra and Scott. They ran a pool and darts tournament, as well as a number of other stalls including a lucky dip, tombola, guess the weight of the cake and face painting.

The team also ran a raffle with some fantastic prizes on offer, such as a tour of Leicester City Ground, a Bistro Live Party Night for 10, and a meal for 4 at Chutney Ivy.

Fundraising Co-ordinator Andrew Ward said: "These guys really went above and beyond and to raise as much as they did in one single afternoon is just incredible."

The event followed a series of fundraising activities including a recent 'Ladies Night' and brings their total to more than £1,900.

The 2nd April will see Rebecca, Margaret, Alexia, and Stacey – along with other friends and family, take on our LOROS Snowdon By Night Challenge as we attempt to climb the highest mountain in Wales in the dark.
